Hello everyone! My name is Sofia Azuara and I am so excited to start my blogging journey. I am originally from Houston, TX but spent some time in Philadelphia before moving to Boston to begin my studies at Simmons. I am just now wrapping up my third week at Simmons and am working towards a Master of Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archives Management. Before coming to Simmons, I received a Bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Bryn Mawr College and then worked in the youth service department at a public library. Additionally, I have some experiences in archive and museum environments and I hope to continue broadening my expertise in these fields throughout my time in the program. As I am becoming more familiar with Boston, my goal is to explore all the different corners of the city! My favorite activities so far have been catching a screening at Coolidge Corner Theatre and picnicking in the Boston Common.

I grew up with a mother in love with words and the theatre. Spent car rides with her listening to titillating and probably too-mature radio segments on the way to school every morning. I grew up with a karaoke machine snug against the living room wall just biding it’s time until the next family gathering. All this to say, I love listening to…
